In the summer of 2021, the shores of the Salish Sea laid bare the fragility of nature when a mass die off of marine mollusks and arthropods littered the foreshore with their caucuses. It is this physical connection that proved most calming and reveals why beach combing is such a popular pastime. This series of ceramics attempts to embody the tactile component of the shell and to provide an alternative keepsake to the simple moments lost during these last few challenging years.
